Flash-in-the-pan? This is something that this blog will address. The Hanson brothers were homeschooled and went big-time for a couple of years. They have now been reduced to studio musicians. I cannot verify that and would love to hear more on them from music lovers who follow The Hansons.

The Hanson Brothers from Tulsa

I was surprised to see one of our church youth group girls on the front cover of The Daily Oklahoman. She was caught, waiting in line to go into a concert by The Hanson Brothers from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Yes, it was her. Then, she did a cover story on her experience in the Anadarko Daily News. Pretty cool.

Who are The Hanson Brothers? Use google to find out who they are? Or, ... try putting in "www.hanson.net." I can tell you up front that I don't have any of their CDs. They were 3 of about 7 brothers and sisters who were home-schooled by parents who had advanced degrees.

It seems that at first they did acapella "Do Woop" stuff, which would be pretty cool in itself. There is something to be said about harmonies from a family. The close nit Everly Brothers' harmonies were incredible on all the stuff they did. And who has awed at Naomi and daughter, Ynnona Jude. Incredible stuff.

Now, let me set you straight. If my oldest son, Darrin, gives a group a great rating, they must be good. He describes them as the US answer to The Beatles. Their first hugely successful hit, "MMMBOP," had kids hanging all over them after their first album. But, ... somewhere down the musical road, their fame burned smaller.

If you do a google on them, they seem not to be all over the Net. But to really find out about them, use Wikepedia to read about them. It's chock-full of information. They have grown up, 2 are married. Their label dropped them. They went independent and have set a new Independent record for their latest musical effort. We are talking, breaking new ground, here.

The neat thing about Wickepedia, is that it is viewer inputted facts. So, if you want a good review of them, by an individual or more than one, you would probably be on target to hunt there.

I would love to hear a review of this group, if anyone has a CD of them, and want to share with us what you think. Maybe Mr. C. could download from iTunes one full song of theirs. I simply cannot use iTunes on the slow Net connection I get. Maybe we could get Darrin to do a write up on them. I'll ask him.

I am really not interested in getting a review of "MMMBOT," but would rather read a description of their latest album. I don't listen to popular music much. Not that I don't like, I just listen to stuff that I can use and enjoy, and by now, you know what my tastes are. It would be a good idea to go to iTunes and listen to a portion of each of their songs listed there.
